Hi, I’m Leah! I’m a newly single mom of four. Life is turning out nothing like I had planned and worked for at all. At the age of fifteen, I met my husband the day I got my driver’s permit. In our twelve years of marriage, we completely gutted and remodeled two houses without hiring anything out. We had finally reached our dream of purchasing a farm– just before life exploded.”
In June of 2018, I had major foot surgery, the next day my husband was killed. He was driving a tractor down a busy highway when a driver shopping online on her phone while driving hit him and he was ejected. He didn’t die instantly, he suffered.
I was suddenly a widow, single mom to four and unable to walk. A lot can happen in a day. My kids were ages 3, 6, 9 and 8 months at the time.
This blog is a compilation of all of my writings, our daily struggles and successes, how we have been impacted, where we are today, what happened yesterday and where we will be tomorrow. Oh, and the random shenanigans that happen around our farm, including that one time when wild raccoons learned how to open my door and I was awoken to a raccoon party in my house!!! Or when I found out that a chicken had been let in and laid an egg under the computer desk.
